In conjunction with the LIU Post College of Management, the Institute for the Study of Democracy and Liberalism offers three fellowships per semester to students in the Dean’s Scholars Program. These fellowships are designed to promote a more thoughtful understanding of the relation between business management, society and personal ethics.

During the time of their fellowships, students will study the intersection of these three areas. Each fellow will be advised by a faculty member from the College of Management as well as Dr. Shawn Welnak from the Department of Philosophy. At the end of the semester, fellows will present their research at a colloquium attended by faculty, students and local business leaders. If their work shows strong promise, students may be allowed to extend their fellowships for an additional semester of continued research.

Each fellowship comes with a stipend of approximately $5,000.
